The Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan hosted two female world title fights last weekend, the first of which seen Kayoko Ebata now 12(6)-7-0 successfully defend her WBO World female minimum weight title on home soil against South Korea’s Ji Hyun Park now 22(6)-3-0. After going ten gruelling rounds Ebata took the win via mixed decision.
The second fight seen Chaoz Minowa now 5(4)-1(1)-0 defeated by Tenkai Tsunami now 25(14)-12-0 for the vacant WBO World female light flyweight title. Tsunami took the win via TKO in the eighth round to halt Minowa’s unbeaten run.
Last weekend also seen Germany’s number one ranked female super flyweight Raja Amasheh now 21(4)-1-1 win the vacant WBO World female super flyweight title against Japan’s Tamao Ozawa now 13(5)-5(2)-0. After going the distance of the scheduled 10 round bout Amasheh took the win via unanimous decision.
The Struer Arena, Denmark seen Dina Thorslund 11(6)-0-0 become the interim World Boxing Council World female super bantamweight champion after defeating Jamaican challenger Alicia Ashley 24(4)-12-1 by unanimous decision after ten rounds.
