This inaugural World Boxing Super Series series aims to try and get rid of Boxing politics and have the best fighters out there fight the ones who claim to be the best, and they do this by making sure if you have a title when you come into the tournament it will be on the line for every fight within the tournament. If you win all of your fights it will only constitute three fights over a period of a year with eight fighters starting the tournament in a Quarter Final, then Semi Final and a Final.

The person coming out at the end of the tournament will have $25 million dollars, the Muhammed Ali Trophy, and all the belts that entered the tournament at the start so because all the four recognised belts entered this Cruiserweight tournament we will have a Undisputed Lineal Champion coming only a short time after Terrance Crawford completed the task for only the third time in history.

Oleksandr Usyk showcased why he was ranked number 1 coming into this tournament, he never stopped moving for the duration of the fight, by refusing to let Huck settle and find his rhythm, and Huck showed his frustration from as early as the first round, when he clumsily came forward trying to find an opening and ended up in a tangle with Usyk.

As the fight went on Huck did settle as he switched his tactics to counter punching as he had little success when he was moving forward throwing punches due to the elusiveness of Usyk, but the Ukrainian appeared just as comfortable fighting on the front foot as he did on the back foot.
Uysk did appear to have a large support in the Germany arena and their voices were heard at the end of the third round after Usyk pressed Huck heavily with 30 seconds left in the round, with Usyk throwing fifteen punches without reply and if he had done this earlier in the round Huck might nit have survived.

In the middle rounds no matter what Huck tried to do he was always just falling short and letting himself get caught clean by Usyk and it appeared if Usyk was just toying with him, some people refer to Usyk as the Cruiserweight Lomachenko and although he isn’t as fast as Lomachenko, he never stops moving, throwing punches or creating angles so I can see were the comparison comes from.

Into the ninth round, Huck was just in survival mode as thee punches he threw that landed on Usyk appeared to have no effect, he appears tired and is slowly moving around the ring, Huck resorted to throwing pot shots with the hope one can land flush and end the fight but again Usyk is walking through anything Huck to offer and starts applying more shots to Hucks body, when the bell goes and both fighters retreat to the corner Huck looks a beaten man gasping for breath as he slumps in his seat but he does bring himself out for the tenth round.

Usyk appears as fresh in the tenth round as he did in the first and as he backs Huck onto the ropes  he lets his hands go just past the half way point through the tenth round and as Huck comes off the ropes to throw some punches back at Usyk he gets caught with a thunderous left hook to the body which makes Huck visibly wince, Usyk can taste victory as he ramps up the pressure and goes in for the kill, he unleashes body and head shots and all Huck can do is cover up, and with him getting caught at will he leaves 74 Yr Old referee Robert Bird no choice but to stop the fight, Mr Bird makes another solid decision just like he did the week before when he referred Mayweather V McGregor.

With this win Usyk progresses in the tournament to the Semi-Final stage to face the winner of Lativas Mairis Briedis V Mike Perez the former Cuban Heavyweight who has dropped down to Crusierweight and who has been heavily tipped as the Dark Horse of the tournament, and whoever wins that w match up we are sure to be in for a treat for the semi-final.
