On March 4, 2017 multi-time, multi-division, and current 147lb WBC champion Danny “Swift” Garcia(33-0 19kos) of Philadelphia will face WBA 147lb “Super” champion Keith “One Time” Thurman(27-0 22kos) in a highly anticipated unification bout. The bout will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on FREE TV CBS as a part of Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions series starting at 9PM ET.

The Brief: Keith Thurman
There’s no doubt that Keith Thurman is the favorite. The questions are “why and “how”? Thurman has strong fan support and the betting odds are in his corner as well. As pointed out in Danny Garcia’s “The Brief” we feel this is a 50/50 fight and we feel are argument is sound.
Keith Thurman is undefeated with 27 fights and 22kos. Here’s a brief breakdown of Keith Thurman’s most notable opponents:
- Diego Chaves whom was undefeated at the time he fought Thurman IN 2013 but many fans did not give Thurman credit for the win him until AFTER Chaves fought Brandon Rios and Timothy Bradley due to lack of knowledge of Chaves beforehand.
- Jesus Soto Karass who was coming off of a high profile victory over Andre Berto.
- Robert Guerrero was defeated by Thurman on the Premier Boxing Champions 1st broadcast. Guerrero was coming off a win over Yoshiro Kamegai and a loss to Floyd Mayweather which despite defeat made him a very credible name.
- Many scuffed at the announcement of Thurman vs Collazo as the debut of PBC on ESPN. Thurman won the fight but Collazo landed a left hook to the body that is now haunting Thurman 3 fights later.
- Finally, Shawn Porter was Thurman’s toughest bout of his career thus far due to the constant yet erratic pressure Porter displayed. Now in back to back fights Thurman was hit with a body shot that sent him into retreat mode until he gathered his bearings. It just seems that some fans are so hung up on the antics of Angel Garcia father and trainer of Danny Garcia that they have not really gave thought to Thurman possibly losing. Or what it really means if he wins.
