Next Wednesday Aussie boxing gets the most anticipated rematch since between Anthony Mundine v Danny Green 2 in 2017. Jeff Horn v Michael Zerafa 2 with everything on the line including a world title shot, will be the number one hyped fight for 2019.

For those of you that didn’t see the first fight, here is the link for the highlights

The first fight was the upset of the year, now it’s time for the rematch. With just a week to go until Horn and Zerafa get back into the ring again, the build up for the fight has been well hyped and very personal.

Ever since the announcement of the rematch, Zerafa has been blaming Horn for standing in the way of him obtaining a multi-million dollar fight with WBA Regular Middleweight champ Ryota Murata. Zerafa was scheduled to take Horn’s place to face Murata on the 23rd of this month, but with Horn’s camp enforcing the rematch clause, Zerafa missed his opportunity. Murata will face Steven Butler for his WBA Middleweight title in Japan on the 23rd.

Bitterness has set in to Zerafa’s mindset and he has taken the rematch clause that he was well aware of when signing for the first fight way to seriously.

In a face to face interview with Ben Damon, Horn and Zerafa were at each other like school children in a very entertaining interview that let all the emotions of the situation run wild.

With the boxing season coming to a close for 2019, it’s a perfect way for year to close. The winner being next in line for Murata (if he defeats Butler) in 2020, while the loser will have to reassess their career.

Australia is certainly abuzz awaiting the biggest fight of the year. Both Horn and Zerafa have promised to end each other’s careers (most unlikely) with the epic battle that will have to outdo the first fight tenfold if it’s truly to become the rematch of the year.

Personally I think that Zerafa will again defeat Horn and become world champion in 2020, (which would be great as it would set up a huge domestic fight with either Tim Tszyu or Dennis Hogan), I am happy to be wrong, but I don’t see Horn beating Zerafa.
