This weekend will mark one of the biggest fights in Australian boxing history, as Jason Moloney (21-1) 18Kos, challenges Naoya Inoue (19-0) 16Kos for Inoue’s WBA (Super), IBF and Ring Bantamweight World Titles, this Saturday, October 31, (Sunday Australian time) at the Top Rank, Las Vegas bubble in the USA.

Moloney is a heavy underdog going into the fight against the undefeated and what many people would consider one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world.

I had the chance to ask Jason a two -part question via a Zoom Press Conference, thanks to Top Rank.

I asked Jason, if successful on Saturday would it be possible to bring a huge fight to Australia and what Stadium would he like to fight in (noting that restrictions are easing in Australia) and what was his thoughts on the AFL and NRL grand finals.

Jason’s response was that he wasn’t really looking past Saturday as he has a huge task ahead of him, but he would love to bring a huge fight home. Being from Melbourne, he would love to pack out the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) with a crowd of 100,00 people to watch his next fight. That would be his dream match.

In regards to the grand finals, he was happy that the Richmond Tigers (AFL) and the Melbourne Storm (NRL) both got up in their respective grand finals.

Jason’s fight will be viewed via ESPN plus in the USA and on Mainevent Television in Australia.

Here is the link to the full press conference that also features Mikela Mayer, who is fighting on the undercard for the WBO Super-Featherweight World Title.
