Katie Taylor 10(5)-0-0 is looking to extend her unbeaten run to eleven wins from eleven professional fights, her opponent Cindy Serrano 27(10)-5(0)-3 who is on a bit of an unbeaten run herself at the moment with twelve wins and a draw in her previous thirteen fights.
Serrano who is originally from Puerto Rico fights out of Brooklyn, New York, so she has not got very far to travel, she will be well adjusted and ready for this fight, coming in at 168cm she is 3cm taller than Taylor. Serrano is a former WBO Female Featherweight champion, so she is aware what is expected of her.
Taylor comes into this fight after travelling from Bray, Republic of Ireland, she will be fighting on foreign soil, but this will feel like a home town fight as the Irish residents living in Boston will be out in force to cheer her on. Although she gives away 3cm in height to her opponent I expect this to be to obstacle to Taylor.
I cannot see this fight going any other way than a Taylor victory, there may not be a Knock out, but I do think Taylor will win on points, back by a roaring Irish crowd this lady holds all the aces. Serrano aka ‘Checkmate’ I don’t think possess the quality to beat Taylor.
Also this week, Austria’s Eva Voraberger 23(11)-5(1)-0 takes on Columbia’s Luna Del Mar Torroba 12(2)-8(1)-2 for the interim WBC World Female Bantamweight Title. With having lost every title fight she has been in I expect Torroba to lose again. Voraberger has the home support and knows what it takes to win, I expect her to win this fight.
