Saturday June 9th, 2018 sees Belgian, WBC world champion Delfine Persoon 40(16)-1(1)-0 defend her title against Argentina’s Natalia Del Valle Aguirre 8(0)-10(0)-3. This fight to me can only go one way and that is home with Persoon. Having lost 9 of her last 10 fights Aguirre is still ranked 3rd in the World at this weight and 1st in Argentina. Aguirre has always gone the distance with a 0% KO percentage compared to that of Persoon (39%).

Persoon all round is far superior, in speed, strength, technique, footwork, shot selection, the 33 year old will prove to be too much for Aguirre. I would say this will be a unanimous decision in favour of Persoon.

On the same night in China local lady Zongju Cai 10(1)-1-0 faces Mexican Ana Victoria Polo 7(1)-2-0 for the vacant IBO world title. This fight is a lot harder to call but if I was pushed to name a winner it would be Cai. The 26 year old is a former two time world champion challenging for her third world title in her home country for me this gives her a huge advantage. Polo has to travel into Cai’s back yard which is hard to do at the best of times, but with this being her first ever world title challenge it will be a uphill battle to control her emotions and concentrate on what she is doing with a crowd on her back. For me Cai will win.
