On the under card of Deontay Wilder v Luis Ortiz for the WBC World Heavyweight Title, American Alicia ‘The Empress’ Napoleon 8(5)-1-0 takes on Belgian Femke Hermans 6(3)-0-0 for the vacant WBA strap. These two ladies do not really have a lot of fights under their belts to really warrant a world title fight never mind television time on a Wilder card.

Hermans has travelled from her own country Belgium where she has successfully fought and won all her fights. She is taking a huge risk, travelling so far from home with relatively no support. But if you want to be a world champion sometimes you need to come into someone else’s yard and prove you have what it takes. Unfortunately for her I really don’t think she has what it takes to beat Napoleon.

I do not think this will be Napoleon’s waterloo, she is far too skilled. Napoleons only defeat came at the hands of the highly skilled Tori Nelson. For those who do not know who Tori Nelson is, she was a former undefeated two weight World champion and is the only woman to have taken Claressa Shields ten rounds. So a defeat to her is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact it gives her title shot some credit as she is at least showing ambition to fight big names.

In front of her home crowd Napoleon should win, she has a knockout punch and will be looking to use it. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds; I do not see this going the distance with Napoleon winning by TKO.

Staying in the USA on the same night over at the Sky Ute Casino, Ignacio, Colorado, American Layla ‘Amazing’ McCarter 40(10)-13-5 takes on fellow American Victoria ‘La Reina de Guerra’ Cisneros 13(6)-19(6)-2 for both the Vacant Global Boxing Union female world welterweight and vacant Women’s International Boxing Federation world welterweight titles. To me McCarter will be taking home the honours, she is far too experienced for Cisneros in my opinion.

Another Female world title fight is taking place on Saturday night over  in The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland, UK, where Chantelle ‘Wham Bam Chan’ Cameron 5(4)-0-0 is defending her IBO World female lightweight title against Myriam Dellal 15(2)7-3 from France.
