Australian Super-Bantamweight contender Brock Jarvis, is looking forward to using his undercard fight on the Horn v Zerafa fight night to project his career to the next level.

The undefeated protege of Jeff Fenech, who himself was a three-time world champion, including the WBC Super-bantamweight title, boasts a record of 16-0.

In an interview with the Bendigo Advertiser while I’m training camp, Fenech spoke about his young fighter.

“The kid can do things I could never dreamed of doing”. Fenech said.

“He has so much skill and is one of those fighters who learns everything quickly.

“He had 13 amateur fights and started boxing at 16, he’s been fast-tracked, but with (promoter) Dean Lonergan’s help, hopefully in a year and a half he’ll be world champion.

“In me he has someone who doesn’t tell him how to do things, I show him how to do things – I’m not a trainer, I’m a teacher.”

Jarvis feels quite happy about the opportunity to fight on such as a huge card. Many in Australia all calling Horn v Zerafa the biggest fight of the year. Now that Jarvis has signed a three-year deal with Jeff Horn’s promoter Dean Lonergan, many more big fight opportunities will be coming his way.

As for the bout itself, on Saturday night in Bendigo, Jarvis will contest for the vacant WBA Oceania Super-Bantamweight title against Filipino fighter Ernesto Saulong (22-4-2). If Jarvis can win the fight, along with the title, he will earn himself a top 15 ranking with the WBA.

Jarvis feels confident that the crowd in attendance on Saturday night at the Bendigo Stadium will have the chance to witness the launch of his career.
