The fight between Chris Eubank Jr and Matt Korobov for the Interim WBA Middleweight  World championship, happening this Saturday night, at the Charlo v Hogan event in Brooklyn, has now been elevated to the full or regular WBA middleweight title. This is due to WBA (Super) Middleweight champ, Canelo Alvarez’s vacation of the 160 pound championship. This comes as no surprise as Canelo is also the 168 pound, Super-Middleweight WBA champ and the 175 pound WBO Light-Heavyweight champ.

Announced came at the weigh-in by Eubank Jr himself. This means that the fight night now has two major middleweight titles on the line, with the winners of each bout between Charlo v Hogan and Eubank Jr v Korobov expected to face each other in an unification winner take all bout in 2020.

Eubank Jr spoke at the weigh-in saying that he feels strong at his natural middleweight and that he is ready for the fight.

In Korobov’s interview he left the crowd waiting in anticipation as he didn’t reveal his plans for tomorrow’s night fight. That the crowd he just have to wait and see.

Both men weighed in under the 160 pound middleweight limit.
