A Fighters Journey participant David Oliver Joyce 9 (7 KO’s) – 0 – 0 makes big strides in his boxing career by fighting for the WBO European Featherweight title after only nine professional bouts and this can get him up the rankings were bigger and better fights are waiting.
Davey came into the professional sport in 2015 after a successful career in the amateur ranks for Ireland which peaked with him appearing in the Brazil 2016 Olympics. Joyce goes by the nickname of the punisher and it is very apt as he is an exciting fighter who was born to fight and technically very good. For this fight Davey was sparring the likes off Michael Conlan which can only have helped him prepare for the biggest fight of his career to date.
I met up with Davey and he told me
“camp is going really well. I’ve really enjoyed this camp so far and I’m in the best shape of my life. Steven is a good fighter and I I’m not looking passed him as well I know he’s going to be there to go for the win. Myself and my coach have looked at him once or twice but that’s really all.
We have picked up a few things, and with my style we don’t normally change something that has always worked but over the last few years i’ve boxed and fought as you have to know both styles.
I have full confidence in my own ability and I believe I’m going to win.”
Thats it 3 weeks of unbelievable sparring with @mickconlan11 @LucienReidy feeling ready. Razor sharp. Big thanks to @boxingbooth and @mickconlan11 for looking after me on my stay. Let's bring this title home. #teampunisher @MTKGlobal @PeteTaylor01 🇮🇪🥊💪 JOYCE pic.twitter.com/GkK44uyI3A

The person standing in the way of Davey is Stephen Tiffney, a tough Scottish fighter with a record of 10 (4 KO’s) – 1 – 0, he also will be seeing this fight as a great opportunity to push forward his own career and I am sure he will give everything to make sure he can come out on top which means it should be one explosive fight.
I had a chance to catch up with Stephen today and he told me
”My camp has been great. I ain’t one for posting a lot on my social media but I’ve been working hard for this. I knew a little bit about DOJ before the fight was made. But I let the my coaches do the research and sort out the game plan. I do like to come forward and fight inside but I can adapt so I will be ready. This is a massive fight for me so of course I ain’t looking past him.
But I look to win this title and move onto bigger and better things. I see this being a high paced exciting fight. I believe we both have the ability to hurt each other but I ain’t thinking about anything else other than a Tiffney win!! “

After speaking with both fighters it is very clear both are very confident in their own ability and as the old saying goes Styles make fights and both of their styles will surely lead to an explosive fight and one not to be missed.
The fight will be live on IFL TV, please come back to the website for a direct link to the live stream.
